AWAKENING PERIOD

We all know very well that after winter comes another season. This is spring, which can otherwise be called the period of awakening, so here we will discuss tips that can help you to do the work of the new period.
Let's start with gardening. Check the branches of bushes and trees, it is possible that some will be frozen or broken. Then it's time to remove these branches. In this way, your plants will get along better in the following seasons as well. It is also important to remove annual leaves from perennial plants, as they somewhat hinder the growth and maturation of new leaves. You should also take care of the overall appearance (not only the plants). A, we draw attention to the fence and the ladder left outside for the winter, it is possible that they need repair.
After tidying up, you can work on making a list of the necessary materials, seeds, and tools. You know very well that the routine is a bit boring, so if you have decided that something new, you can apply it to your garden as well. New plant species have been dissected. Spring is a great time to plant both annuals and perennials.
A lot of very green areas (lawns), which after the cold period of the year are somewhat destroyed. There are some special tools for handling them that you can buy at your nearest garden supply store or borrow from a neighbor. And if you need tools, you should check if they are still in good condition, perhaps the blades need sharpening or oil replenishment. Also, when talking about lawn rehabilitation, it is important to note that before tools, it is necessary to pick out garbage, branches blown by the wind, or stones left after the winter. In this way, you will protect the tools you use from damage.
After selecting and purchasing plant seeds, look at the other half of the package. it is written there, what kind of soil acidity is required for the selected species of plants. Then check the soil pH before planting. There are shipments that need to reach the required quantity.
Prepare the vegetable garden properly. As soon as the frost leaves the ground, start handling it. First, pick out stones, twigs, and other winter debris. Next, cover the surface of the soil with a layer of compost about four inches thick and loosen the soil to a depth of ten to twelve inches. In this way, the future plant house will be really enriched with useful substances.

After preparing the land, you can start planting. Of course, not in prepared soil outside, but in small pots that you will keep at home. The best suited for this is cardboard cube-shaped pots, from which you will plant the desired plants. And when the temperature warms up, plant the grown plants in the ground without removing them, because the organic cardboard is extremely fast and does not create barriers to the growth and expansion of the plant's root system. tomato, cucumber, and pepper sprouts are prepared in this way. Since the plant is already sprouted, there is no need to wait for it to start growing, and thus the harvest time is brought forward. It has also been observed that seedlings that indoors receive more attention than those that grow outdoors. Then it's a great chance to give a good start to growth.

5 GARDENRS TIPS YOU SHOULD NOT BELIEVE

1. Solving problems in the garden using table salt. Salt is generally recommended for fighting weeds and insect pests, ants, weevils, and even wasps. This advice is not only unfounded but even dangerous. The thing is, when you sprinkle salt on the ground, it makes the soil salty, which not only kills the weeds but also everything else. After such an experiment, you will have to invest a lot and do a lot of digging until you return the soil to its original condition. You will only be able to rejoice if you haven't had time to cause damage to your neighbors, otherwise, you will probably have to pay for it. You must not forget that, for example, ants can carry salt around the entire plot.
2. Use baking soda instead of fertilizers to reduce soil acidity. As for fertilization, it is necessary to say that there is nothing in soda that is useful for plants, and this means that there is no point in fertilizing soda. However, baking soda causes an alkaline reaction, so it may appear to act as an acid-reducing agent in the soil. Yes, of course, it can be, but then you need a lot of soda, and a large amount of it will still lead to adverse effects. By the way, we may disappoint you, but soda does not work as an insecticide (a remedy against harmful insects) either. Its only plus is that it is less toxic than salt, but no benefit exists.
3. Use laundry soap to reduce soil acidity. It is necessary to mention that laundry soap is really useful for the gardener - there are many ways to use it. However, it does not reduce soil acidity. Although the soap solution causes an alkaline reaction, it should not be used for this purpose. Dolomite flour is ideal for regulating soil acidity.

4. Display of glasses with a "kvass" in the garden. It is assumed that the smell of "kvass" will attract fruit-eating insects and they, tempted by the drink, will drown in it. Unfortunately, insects aren't that stupid. They will, of course, fly away and start circling the bog, but they will only drown in it if you drown them yourself. And anyway, everything will end with the fact that not only yours but also your neighbors' garden will start to be threatened by a much larger group of these pests.

5. The use of eggshells as protection against earwigs and moles. This tip is listed last only because it does not pose a serious threat, but it also does not bring any benefits. Neither voles nor moles will be scared of eggshells that are crushed and scattered around the plot, and therefore they will not leave your garden. This advice would not pose any risks, if not for one "but". As long as you play around with this method, instead of relying on what works, moles will have time to gobble up half the plot - not to mention the damage that moles will cause.
